GRP balcony flat roof with non-slip surface. This balcony roof had completely failed so we stripped it back to the bare bones and installed 75mm insulation board, a Visquin polyurethane vapour barrier, new gutter, wooden tilt fillets to restore the roof’s flow, marine ply board & a GRP deck with trims, flashings & an anti-slip surface
Strip & re-cover of concrete tiled roof using new vapour permeable breathable membrane pitched roof underlay, new UPVC dry verge covers system & re-fixing the tiles replacing any that were damaged or broken
Installation of new lead flashing, repairs to the under felt at the eaves & re-pointing chimney stack flaunch.
Lifting & re-bedding of all hip & ridge tiles. Repairs to perished under felt using breathable membrane underlay. Installation of eaves felt support trays & replacement of broken/damaged concrete tiles
When this extension roof was constructed the under felt was installed incorrectly by being lapped the wrong way allowing rain water to run directly into the property
Unfortunately the old bitumen under felt on this roof was so badly dilapidated that the only way to fix it was to strip it off & start again. Also the tiles at the bottom of the roof were laying flat causing the rain water to pool on them and back fill under the tiles. To solve this problem we removed the old gutter & top course of stone blocks on the outer wall to restore the flow at the bottom of the roof allowing all the rain water to be delivered into the new gutter
