New tiled roof. This is a tiled roof strip & re-cover including solar panel installation. The tiles are Marley Double Romans which are very aesthetically pleasing. When installing under felt we always use a vapour permeable breathable membrane which prevents the build up of condensation in the loft space by allowing water vapour to pass through micro pores in the fabric.

The under felt has failed after the stone tiles were sealed to the gulley and water getting under the tiles at the ridge has been unable to get out. The weight of the water gathering at the bottom course has caused the felt to sag & tear. To solve the problem we have installed drip trays & a new course of under felt which allows the water to be delivered into the gulley without gathering under the bottom course of tiles. We have then put the rest of the tiles (including some new ones) back correctly and re-bedded/pointed the ridge line. We undertook this job over a year ago & the home owner has not had any problems since.

Chimney stack refurbishment. The stones of the 3rd chimney were so badly weathered we used a water repellent masonry application to prevent further delapidation

Re-sealing leaking cast iron gutter joints which have caused damp on the party wall. This is a 4 stage process. Firstly the gutter is cleared out & dried. Then a coat of primer is applied to ensure  adhesion. Then a polyurethane sealant is injected into the joint to allow for expansion & contraction from hot/cold temperatures. Lastly a top coat of glassfibre reinforced acrylic membrane is applied.
